What does the rope challenge involve?

The UKRO Rope Rescue Challenge is open to all UK local authority fire and rescue services.

The Challenge will run over two days.

Against the clock, the firefighters’ will call on the technical skills they need when working at height or in other complex rescue situations.

The teams of five include a team leader, medic and three crew members. The leader and medic will remain the same person throughout, but the other crew members can be changed. Live ‘casualties’ will be used, where appropriate, and how they’re handled will affect the final score.

The Rope Rescue challenges are taking place at several venues, owing to the height and conditions needed to fulfill these challenges.
