USAR Challenge
What does the USAR challenge involve?
Did you know that firefighters across the UK respond to attend incidents involving collapsed buildings and other structures?
Crews can be working for long periods of time, often alongside colleagues from other fire and rescue services.
The UKRO USAR challenge is open to local authority fire and rescue services’ technical rescue teams from across the UK.
Crews of six will have 1.5 hours to undertake two scenarios set over the two-day festival. They must complete the two tasks, or as much of them that’s safe to.
The tasks will include Lifting and Moving, Shoring, Technical Search and Breaching and Breaking
USAR Venues
The Urban Search and Rescue challenge will take place at our main festival site, Smithfield.
