Summer of Rescue coming to Star City

Birmingham will play host to its second Summer of Rescue event on 12 August 2022, when the celebrations come to the Star City centre.

Running from 11am to 4pm, there will be lots to see and do, and in particular an opportunity to learn more about our rescue capabilities as we build towards the UKRO Festival of Rescue later in the year.

We have lots planned for an action-packed day, including:

  • Road casualty reduction team van including our unique Virtual Reality experience.
  • First Aid instruction and demonstration
  • An opportunity to sit in one of our Fire Engines and learn about all the equipment it carries.
  • Rope rescue demonstration
  • Vehicle rescue demonstrations with cars being cut open on site
  • Local community police
  • Firefighter charity stall

Of course you'll also be able to enjoy all that Star City has to offer, as well as children's rides and an artificial beach to take advantage of the hopefully lovely weather!
