Festival of Rescue locations confirmed

This year's UKRO Festival of Rescue will be taking place at multiple sites across Birmingham, and even further afield in some instances! This handy guide will let you know where you can find and watch all the action across both days of the festival.

Our main location is at Smithfield is where the majority of the action will take place on both 30 September and 1 October from 9am-4pm. This site will not only feature challenge events, but our community safety village and sponsor trade village. Right in the heart of Birmingham city centre, this location is a short walk from both Birmingham New Street and Moor Street stations.

Water Rescue Challenge Site 1 - The Lloyds, Jackfield, Telford, TF8 7LZ

Event at this site:

  • Swift Water Rescue 

This is our main location outside of Birmingham, where we'll be making use of the Severn river for our swift-water rescue challenge on 30th September. Spectators will be able to watch from the banks as teams take on the challenge.

Water Rescue Challenge Site 2 - Bartley Sailing Club, Bartley Reservoir, Birmingham, B32 3NU

  • Water Rescue 

Situated in the south of the city, we'll be using Bartley Reservoir on 1st October for part of our Water Rescue challenge. Spectators will be able to get an all-round view as teams take on this challenge.

Rope Rescue Challenge Site 1 - The Forum, 79 Pershore Street, Birmingham B5 4RW

Located right next to the main challenge site, the Forum, an 11-storey apartment building, will be our main Rope Rescue site, used on both 30th September and 1st October. Spectators will be able to watch the action from Smithfield or get even closer by observing from the foot of the building.

Rope Rescue Challenge Site 2 - Edgbaston Street Car Park, Gloucester Street, Birmingham B5 4RQ

Located near to the main challenge site, Edgbaston Street Car Park, located on top of the famous Birmingham Indoor market, will play host to part of our Rope Rescue Challenge on both 30th September and 1st October. Spectators will be able to watch the all the action up close and even fit in some shopping while you're at it!

Rope Rescue Challenge Site 3 - The Cube Bridge, Waterfront Walk, The Mailbox, Birmingham, B1 1SN

This iconic location, situated next to both the Cube and Mailbox buildings, will host parts of our rope rescue challenge on 30th September and 1st October. There's lots of places to view the challenge participants, including quite a few canal-side bars and restaurants.
